Women’s AP Top-25: Oregon Ducks hold at No.3, Oregon State drops to No.11 after wild weekend

Both women’s Pac-12 programs in the state of Oregon remained firmly among the nation’s best in the latest AP Top-25 poll, released Monday.

Despite blowing out No.4 UConn on the road, 74-56, and return home for a couple more conference blowout wins over No.12 Arizona 85-52 and No.19 Arizona State 79-48, the Oregon Ducks did not rise past their No.3 ranking.  South Carolina and Baylor continue to hold the top two spots in the poll.

Oregon has won 10 in a row, and improve to 20-2 overall on the season.

The Oregon State Beavers had a dramatic week themselves, getting a buzzer-beater from star Mikayla Pivec in a thrilling 64-62 win over No.19 ASU at Gill Coliseum on Friday night.  Then the Beavs went to overtime on Sunday with No. 12 Arizona, but lost 65-58.  The Beavers dropped two spots in the rankings to No.11 in Monday’s poll.

No. 3 Oregon has a big game in Los Angeles on Friday against No.7 UCLA, then visits USC on Sunday afternoon.  No. 11 Oregon State visits USC on Friday before facing No. 7 UCLA in Pauley Pavilion the following Monday night at 6pm on ESPN 2.
