As expected, the Portland Trail Blazers have picked up the fourth-year option and Zach Collins and third-year option on Anfernee Simons:

The 2020-21 cap hits are $2.25 million for the 20-year old Simons and $5.4 million for the 21 year-old Collins. The move ensures that the team maintains future control over two players that are expected to have a major impact this season. Collins is expected take over Portland’s starting power forward, and may see time at center behind Hassan Whiteside with Jusuf Nurkic still rehabbing his injury. Simons will see ball handling duties with the second unit.
