It’s time to hit the panic button if you’re a Portland Timbers fan. Heading into San Jose, the Timbers had a golden opportunity to turn their struggles around, facing last place San Jose who had just given up five goals to LAFC. That didn’t matter at all though, as Portland played uninspired soccer the entire match and got blown out 3-0. The defense was nowhere to be found, communication nonexistent, scoring opportunities rare. They now have only one point in five matches, and the schedule doesn’t get any easier as they still have seven more road matches before their first home match in the newly renovated Providence Park. They will head to Dallas next Saturday to take on FC Dallas, you can listen to the match right here on 102.9/750 The Game.

Match Highlights:

In the 33′ minute, San Jose got their second goal of the night, Danny Hoesen kicked in a rebound for an easy goal.

Things got even worse for the Timbers, just 30 seconds later the Timbers didn’t play any defense and gave up another goal. This time it was Christian Espinoza who had the goal.

In the 2nd half, the Timbers had a golden opportunity to make a game of it as Sebastian Blanco drew a penalty kick.. But Diego Valeri took it nonchalantly and it was saved by the Earthquakes goalkeeper.
