Before Sunday night, the nation looked at San Francisco as a pretender, not a contender. After Sunday night, expect many opinions to change.

The 49ers defense sacked Aaron Rodgers five times. The Green Bay quarterback was held to a career-worst 3.2 yards per pass attempt in any of Rodgers 169 career starts.

As for the San Francisco QB, Jimmy Garoppolo was solid: 14-of-20 passing, 253 yards, and two touchdowns.

The Niners had two explosive plays for touchdowns, both long throws from Garoppolo. Deebo Samuel caught a 41-yard pass for a TD, and George Kittle outran the Packers defense for a 61-yard touchdown.

On the other side, the Packers never mustered a reception longer than 12 yards nor a run longer than 21 yards.

San Francisco may still not be for real, but dismantling the Packers and Rodgers like they did on Sunday should count for something.
