Portland Diamond Project Announces Restore Oregon Partnership

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, the Portland Diamond Project, and restoration non-profit Restore Oregon announced a partnership today to restore the famous C. W. Parker Four-Row Park Carousel.

Better known as “The Jantzen Beach Carousel”, it was built for the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, moved to Venice Beach where it operated in the 1920s, and later, sold to the Jantzen Beach Amusement Park.

After sitting in storage for years, the PDP envisions the restored carousel in place near their proposed MLB stadium, and released renderings with their vision:
