The Seattle Seahawks announced late Friday afternoon that they “locked up the best LB in the game!!!!” on Twitter.

Bobby Wagner’s new deal will reportedly pay him $18 million a year, which makes him the highest paid ILB.

The Seahawks and Wagner agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $54 million with $40.2 million guaranteed.

Wagner was fourth in total tackles last season, and leads all NFL players with 656 tackles in the last five years. He had the following to say after the signing:

Wagner just turned 29 in June.

Seattle’s first preseason game is against Denver on Aug. 8.
