Oregon missed 12 of their final 13 shots and that ended their 2019 season in Tampa. The Baylor Bears length caused the Ducks issues, but Oregon kept it close or had the lead throughout the game.

The Ducks shot the ball 18 times in the fourth quarter, but they only made five shots. Oregon’s last gasp just fell short.

In the first and fourth quarters, Sabrina Ionescu was held scoreless. The Nancy Lieberman and Wade Trophy winner scored her team-high 18 points in the second and third frames.

She did have a pretty impressive four-point play before the end of the first half.

Oregon knew the three point line would need to be their best friend against Baylor, who is known for their inside game and defense. Unfortunately, the Ducks 12-made-threes were just not enough.

No. 1 overall seed, Baylor shot 31-of-54 (57.4 percent) inside the arc. Kalani Brown led the Bears in scoring with 22 points. Lauren Cox finished right behind Brown with 21 points.

For the Ducks, Satou Sabally and Erin Boley scored in double digits with 16 and 14 points, respectively. The champion of the Portland Region, Oregon Ducks, needed to hit any shots late, but they just couldn’t get the buckets to fall.

Baylor moves on to play the winner of UConn and Notre Dame on Sunday in the NCAA Women’s Championship Game.
