The 3rd-ranked Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team took down No.9 Oregon State on Friday night 77-68 in the first of two Civil War matchups this weekend.

The two rivals will meet again on Monday in Corvallis where OSU looks to get their revenge.

The Ducks were led in scoring by junior Sabrina Ionescu, who scored 29 points on 12-of-24 shooting.  Forward Ruthy Hebard also eclipsed the 20-point plateau and collected a double-double totaling 21 points and 11 rebounds to aid the Ducks (24-1; 13-0 Pac-12) to victory.

The loss is the 2nd in the last 3 games for the Beavers, who are now 20-5 overall, 11-2 in conference play.

OSU was led by point guard Destiny Slocum who scored 19 points, but connected on just one of her five attempts from three-point range.

The Beavers shot a solid 50% from the floor as a team, but were hindered by committing 10 turnovers as opposed to just 3 by the Lady Ducks.  Oregon attempted 10 more shots in the game than Oregon State by virtue of the turnover differential.

The two teams will tangle again Monday at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.  The game tips at 6pm and will be televised on ESPN2.
