Mike Leake gave Seattle exactly what the doctor ordered on Sunday against the A’s: a quality start.

For the fifth consecutive start, Leake pitched into the 7th inning. He gave up three runs in total (two earned) and only allowed two base runners after the 4th inning.

Mallex Smith tied the game for the M’s in the 3rd with a bomb to right field.

Austin Nola made his MLB debut, and he picked up a hit in his first plate appearance.

Nola scored on Smith’s 2-Run homer in the third. The 29-year-old is also the older brother of Philadelphia pitcher, Aaron Nola.
