Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew remained calm, cool and collected in his first NFL primetime game. The former Washington State QB picked up his first NFL win over former Oregon QB Marcus Mariota.

Minshew finished 20-of-30 with 204 yards and two first-quarter touchdown passes. Mariota, however, collected 304 yards on 23-of-40 passing.

Mariota and the Titans offense struggled to get points on the board. They outperformed the Jaguars in several categories, but the scoreboard read Jaguars 20-7 when the clock hit 0:00.

The Titans had 20 first downs, Jags only had 12. Tennessee converted on 8-of-17 on 3rd down, Jacksonville only 2-of-11. But, the Jaguars kept Minshew pretty clean.

Mariota was sacked nine times, whereas Minshew wasn’t sacked once. The Titans offensive line was exposed on several occasions, and Mariota was unable to use his legs as a weapon.

As a team, the Titans were also ravaged by penalties. Tennesee committed nine (accepted) penalties for 101 yards.

The Jaguars improve to 1-2, and the Titans fall to 1-2.
