The Blazers made a big splash late last week with the reported signing of Carmelo Anthony to a non-guaranteed contract.

The 35-year-old Anthony will hope to bring his experience as a ten-time All-Star and renowned scorer to a Blazers squad that has sputtered out of the gate to start the season.  Portland has been particularly light at the forward position, where an injury to Zach Collins and poor performances from Anthony Tolliver and Mario Hezonja have left a glaring weakness.

Anthony will likely debut Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.  He has not played in an NBA game since Nov. 8th, 2018 as a member of the Houston Rockets against the Oklahoma City Thunder.  He had a ten-game run with the Rockets last fall, peaking with a 28-point performance in Brooklyn in a win over the Nets on Nov. 2, 2018.  He scored at least 17 points in four of his ten games played.

Will Melo have a successful run this season with the Blazers?
