The Seattle Mariners took advantage of the Texas Rangers decision to use Sunday as a bullpen day. The M’s faced seven Ranger pitchers, and Seattle scored on five of them.

In the first inning, all nine Mariner starters had an a plate appearance. Seattle led 4-0 after the first, which was highlighted by Dee Gordon’s two-run single.

A quiet second inning followed with back-to-back home runs in the third. Tom Murphy slugged a ball to left center, while Daniel Vogelbach followed with a dinger to right field.

Kyle Seager, who has dominated at Globe Life Park, had one more highlight for the outgoing Texas ballpark.

Seager demolished an eighth inning three-run home run to the upper deck of right field. Statcast says the homer went 420 feet, but it felt like a lot further.

The M’s third baseman finishes with a .300 batting average, 15 HRs, and 56 RBI at Globe Life Park.

For context, Seager’s career numbers at the other AL West parks are nowhere near this good.

  • LA Angels: .214 avg., 12 HRs, 34 RBI
  • Houston: .269 avg., 12 HRs, 38 RBI
  • Oakland: .247 avg., 8 HR, 43 RBI

On the pitching front, the M’s starter, Yusei Kikuchi, took advantage of the run support. Kikuchi struggled at times on Sunday, but only gave up three runs through five innings.

The Mariner bullpen pitched a solid four innings, only giving up three hits and three walks (no runs) while striking out six batters.

Sunday’s game marks the final game the Mariners will play at Globe Life Park. The new Rangers ballpark, Globe Life Field, opens next year.

Mariners win 11-3.

Winning Pitcher, (6-9) Yusei Kikuchi: 5.0 IP, 3 ER, 1 K, 0 BB
