Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts defeated Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans 21-7 Saturday afternoon in the AFC Wild Card game.

With the win, the Colts, the AFC’s 6-seed, advance to face Patrick Mahomes and top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round next week (Saturday, 1:35pm, 1029FM/750AM, TV: CBS).

The Colts led 21-0 at halftime, and after neither team scored in the third, Houston scored the only touchdown of the fourth quarter.  But it wasn’t enough as Indy’s defense sacked Deshaun Wason 3 times and held Houson’s offense to 3-for-13 on 3rd downs.

The loss was the first loss by more than a touchdown in Watson’s NFL career.  The Texans QB had not lost by more than a touchdown since his sophomore year of high school.

Luck was brilliant in the win for Indianapolis, who claimed their first playoff win since their run to the 2014 AFC Championship Game under Luck and then-head coach Chuck Pagano.

The other AFC Wild Card game pits the 5-seed Los Angeles Chargers (12-4) visiting the 4-seed and AFC North Champion Baltimore Ravens (10-6).  That game kicks off Sunday at 10am, and the winner will go on the road in the Divisional Round to face the 2-seed New England Patriots in Foxboro.
