Looks like the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers have real competition for in-state recruits…just not who you might think.

Twitter posts on Monday morning reveal that none other than Lane Kiffin has been active in the Oregon footprint looking for his future talent.  The Florida Atlantic head coach offered Lake Oswego running back Casey Filkins a scholarship to play for the Owls, per Filkins twitter account:

Filkins will be a senior in the fall, part of the Lakers class of 2020.  As a junior he was named the Oregon 6A Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Lakers to their second state title in school history, beating Sheldon 34-27 in the championship game.  Filkins accounted for all five total touchdowns for LO in the victory.

Filkins is a three-star prospect per 24/7 Sports, and already has offers from Ivy League schools Columbia, Dartmouth, and Princeton, as well as Nevada and Montana State.

Could the state’s best all-purpose back be headed to join the Lanester in south Florida?
