Tons of NFL free agents hit the open market this offseason including Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas. Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus predicted landing spots for top NFL talent. He thinks Thomas is going to America’s Dairyland.

Renner picked Thomas to the Packers for their ridiculous percentage of “middle-of-the-field” safety-use. Last season, Green Bay played 61 percent of their defensive snaps with a single safety set.

Interestingly, Renner also sees the Seahawks making a splash in free agency. Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Dee Ford was graded at 88.6 in PFF ratings.

Renner sees a Ford-to-Seattle marriage because of his similarity to former Seahawk Cliff Avril.

“The Seahawks desperately missed Cliff Avril’s presence as a speed-rusher this past season,” Renner wrote. “Ford is a similar type of rusher that continually attacks the top of the pocket.”

It would be interesting to see Ford in Seattle, especially if they could pair him with Frank Clark.

Unrestricted Free Agents, like Thomas, can start negotiating with teams March 11-13.
