For Mariner fans, Sunday will be remembered as the day Edgar Martínez entered the Hall of Fame.

For the players, Sunday will be a reminder of a suffering offense and subpar pitching.

The Seattle offense was blanked for the first six innings. When they finally got a run on the board in the 7th, the M’s were already down 8-1.

M’s starter Yusei Kikuchi never found a real rhythm and gave up nine hits, seven earned runs and two home runs in five innings.

Seattle tacked on two more runs in the 9th, but it was too little too late.

The Angels won on Sunday 9-3, which gave them the 3-game series win 2-1 and the season series lead at 10-9.

Winning Pitcher, (2-0) Dillon Peters: 5.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 K, 2 BB
