The iconoclastic Holley Mangold is ready to make Olympic history for America this summer. The United States has never won gold in women’s Olympic weightlifting, but that is about to change. Female weightlifter Holley Mangold joins the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about the London Olympics. This is Holley’s first trip to the Summer Olympics and she is determined to bring back a medal for the U.S. of A.

Holley has had an unusual path to the London Olympics. After being let go from the U.S. weightlifting team in previous years, she is now back on the team and preparing to compete for a gold medal. Holley describes how she got started weightlifting. In high school, she played on the football team and she reveals how the team received her. She talks about where her desire to compete with the boys comes from. She then talks about how she gets herself motivated to battle for gold in London. She also discusses why she was originally kicked off the weight lifting team and how she made it back in time for London.
